About MLK Day of Service

MLK Day of Service is a way to transform Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s life and teachings into actions that strengthen communities, empower individuals, bridge barriers, and create solutions.

Each year, Catholic University honors the life & legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. by participating in this national day of service. By working with several community partners, CUA hopes to serve and respond to the needs of our community.

Event Information

DATE: Monday, January 15, 2018

LOCATION: Pryzbyla Great Rooms

TIME: Once you have registered and been placed, you will be given a specific time for meeting. There will be multiple deployments of groups during the day.

WHAT TO BRING/WEAR: A photo ID, reusable water bottle, warm clothes and layers (that you don't mind getting dirty), close-toed shoes

MLK Day of Service 2018 Registration Form

GROUPS: Fill out the individual registration form and write group name under "group affiliation" section. All those listed with the same group affiliation will be placed at the same site.

**ATTENTION ATHLETIC TEAMS, HABITAT SPRING BREAK & MISSION TRIPS GROUPS: Your captain/coach, leader/advisor will sign you up separately... DO NOT USE LINK ABOVE **  

Families and children are encouraged to participate!

**You will be contacted before the day of service with specific information as to what time to meet, what to bring, what to wear, etc.

Ways to use the MLK Social justice education and prayer resources:

  • Begin staff meeting/ class with prayer 
  • Begin staff meeting/class with MLK education and reflection
  •  Take time in staff meeting, class, or student organization meeting to reflect and discuss the life of MLK
  •  Decorate office bulletin boards, classrooms, or dorms with MLK pictures, quotes
  •  Include MLK Day of Service graphic in your email signature
  •  Pass along to others
