"30 Days Away" Simulation & Service

Wednesday, November 15th, 7pm
Begins in Campus Ministry

"30 Days Away" is a simulation game that challenges you to see the tough choices people on the poverty line must make every month. After the simulation, we will pack snack kits for our friends on the street.

Street Sense Media Gallery & Poetry Reading

Monday, November 13th, 6pm

Caldwell Auditorium

Kick off Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week by seeing art and hearing poetry by our friends on the street. Join the audience to experience unique art, deepen your understanding of homelessness and join others
working to end it. Street Sense Media poetry, photography and illustrations will be exhibited with the opportunity to engage with the artists and support them directly.

Solidarity Sleep Out 

Thursday, November 16th, 9:30pm

Pryz Lawn

Join the CUA community and spend a night sleeping outdoors in solidarity with those experiencing homelessness. Bring your own sleeping supplies for a night of education and fellowship!

"It's Closer Than You Think" Speaker Event

Monday, November 13th, 7pm

Following our guests from Street Sense, we will host a speaker who will talk about their experience with homelessness.

Thanksgiving Food Drive

Help bring Thanksgiving dinner to local families in need! onations will be given to the Edgewood-Brookland Collaborative. 

Food for Fines

Mullen Library 

For each nonperishable food item donated at Mullen Library, get $1 off outstanding fines*. For each unopened package of diapers, get $2 off per diaper!

Applied to only CUA overdue fines. 

Habitat for Humanity Day Trip

Saturday, November 18th 

 No building or Habitat experience necessary.  Painting, framing, putting up siding, installing flooring, or even drywalling- you will definitely learn a new skill and have a lot of fun! Visit CUA Habitat for Humanity Website
